Background:
Many of you will know we’ve been raising money for one of the guys in our church as he needs some major work done on his teeth, We needed $6,300 and the church has currently pledged just over $5,000!

To get the rest of the money AND make our contribution to the ADRA appeal, the youth are holding a Trivia Night and Auction on Saturday night 20th November.

16 October: ADRA + Lunch + SS Workshop + Multi-Cultural Night...

LOTS happening this weekend so read on for the all important details: 

ADRA: we are collecting for the annual ADRA appeal between 11am and 1pm (apprentices) and 1pm-3pm (deconstructors) at the cnr of Blackburn and Ferntree Gully road. See Natasha or Sylvia to sign up if you haven't already. (Note: provided the weather is good, this is actually lots of fun! So do sign up...)

Lunch: There is a youth lunch after church - it's haystacks and we're providing the basics but you provide the rest! So bring a drink and some salad or your favourite haystacks topping. Also, if possible please let us (Natasha or me) know if you're coming and what you're bringing by Friday afternoon. 

Sabbath School Training workshop: Pr Dave Edgren is coming to do a sabbath school class workshop. This is happening from 2:30-4pm in the seminar room at church... there will be some good practical stuff here, and if you haven't heard Pr Dave before he's a great speaker so come along to pick up some tips! 

And lastly, don't forget the Multi-Cultural Night is on this Saturday night - I don't have any details for this except that its happening at church and there will be food. But then that may be enough for some of our boys...

Project clean up - this Sunday 12 September!

An opportunity for you to help this Sunday. A group of us are going to clean up Tracey & Luigi's place. We will be cleaning windows, vacuuming, weeding, tree trimming, moving funiture etc etc. We would love some more people to help!

We will meet at the church at 9am then head from there. A delicious lunch will be provided back at the church. So its just a morning of your day.

If you're already coming along please bring some gardening gloves. We also need the following items:
* buckets
* gardening tools - things to help pull up weeds
* broom & dust pan
* squeegees - you know those things you use on windows
* you!
If you can help out and haven't mentioned it to either Simon or Jody please let us know asap so we make sure we've got lunch for you!

We will also catch up just after church this week to discuss what needs to be done and prepare you for it all!

Picnic at Westerfolds

Let's hope for good weather on Saturday and go on a picnic after church at Westerfolds Park. Bring along your lunch and some warm clothes.

"Branded" - Youth Eastern Regional Vespers
This Friday, starting at 7.30pm at Nunawading Church


Mr Rubik's Extravaganza
This Saturday night from 7pm at Burwood

Essentially a games night but with a bit of a twist. You will need to:

1. dress in one of the colours from the Rubik’s Cube: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue or White (note that on this occasion high heels are highly inadvisable. As Justin put it "Dress for Mess")
2. bring a little money if you want to buy snacks or drinks
3. show up at 7pm Saturday night to Burwood SDA Church, Cnr of Highbury and Huntingdale Roads, Burwood.

Youth Service - 4 September

Our next youth service is coming up on the 21st of August 4th of September and planning is underway.
